Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill – My absorbed thoughts after listening to the audio.

Desire: the first step of all achievement.

The process of thinking and growing rich initiates itself with a burning desire to achieve something new. There are times in our life that we open our minds and let some ‘crazy ‘sounding ideas to take over our thoughts…

Take for example the thought of someone wanting to become an astronaut! It’s not something that you hear every day from your acquaintances, friends and family. This idea would seem crazy to many people if they heard it from a ‘normal’ type of person with a ‘normal’ job… Wouldn’t it?

What is the crazy thing about someone having this ambition? It’s the fact that it is not something ordinary. Also for someone to successfully fulfill their aspiration in such an extraordinary profession they will have to enter themselves willingly in a complete, constant and strict educational system that not only will make them real professionals but will continually enhance and grow their personality attributes to higher levels. This is how is done.

Think and Grow Rich Mindset Truths

Misfortune… Temporary defeat… Desperation… A bunch of excuses that human use to quit their aspirations.

Many people see these as OBSTACLES. Obstacles are an extra reason for the whiners to start whining, procrastinate and finally… Quit. And of course NOT GET THE JOB JONE.

What if instead of bonding ourselves with the negative vibes that challenges can release in to our conscious world, we apply think and grow rich mindset and SAW OPPORTUNITY?  The opportunities that lie in these hardships and will render to us greater will, stronger passion, enhance our inner power to DEAL with and finally overcome those! The greatest knowledge and the most actionable solutions come after overcoming desperation and this devil that tells you ‘Ok, you’ve had enough already, QUIT! QUIT!’ You need to kill that devil if you desire to do something far from ordinary.

Success comes to those who transform their thinking procedure from:

Failure Orientation ===> Success Orientation

Failure Consciousness ===> Success  Consciousness

One of the basic concepts of Think and Grow Rich Book and the Secret’s.

You are the master of your fate and captain of your soul. Why? You have the power  to control your own thoughts. That is a birth right and be aware and never let anyone take that away from you. It’s your treasure that you need to hold on to very tight.

Think and Grow Rich conclusion

So it comes up to firstly:

  • Knowing what you want
  • Knowing where you want to go or else how are you supposed to get there? :)
  • Having a clear plan and definite plan
  • Arming your plan consistently with patience, determination and perseverance

  1. Hi Joanna,

I downloaded this audio book from iTunes about two years ago and have listened to it over and over again while hard at work. :) Great stuff, even better if you can discuss it in a master mind group. I’ve been wanting to get one started locally and/or online but haven’t found the right moment to set it in motion.

I have a 10 seat conference room available if you’d be interested in gathering a few more “Think & Grow Rich” fans for a Saturday morning Master Mind Session… All we need are a few people with either ebook or hard/soft cover and an audio version to get this thing going.

Let me know what you think ;)

    Cheers,
    Frankie

    • I’m located in Hollywood, Florida (USA). In the past I’ve coached people via Skype and my conference room in places like Australia so I’m aware of the many time differences ;)

I think one of the greatest benefits you get from the Internet is the lack of boundaries, including time (if you try).

Let’s keep in touch. I’m sure we can work something out eventually

Joanna, this is actually one of my favorite personal development books! I mean, no, I do not agree with every single aspect of its premise, but in general, it provides many great tips and paves a great foundation of achieving one’s goals.

I read this last summer (2010) while developing a new online business model. Although I didn’t achieving the exact dollar amount within the 3 months I gave myself, I did go from zero to about a third of the amount, which is great nevertheless!

I learned that sometimes more time is needed to learn and perfect the techniques required to execute one’s “definite chief aim” (or a smaller version of it) that perhaps the time frame we initially set is too short…but hey that’s okay! The point is to not give up, but rather keep going toward that definite goal and set a new timeline as you go along.

I think I need to start another project with it this year, before the summer is over, knowing that each achieved mini goal will add up to become the BIG goal!

Hello Andy dear! I agree ! Usually all critical goals take more that initially planned or desired, but hey as you said.. It’s more than ok! It’s a part of the process of learning and growing. Patience and determination are critical elements for the success of the plans we set.

Thanks for dropping by, I expect to see you here very often :)

    Have the greatest day ahead.

Thanks for reminding me that it has been lying untouched and unheard in my computer. I have read the book a couple of times, though but would love to listen to it again. This would remind me the principles, if any forgotten.

I believe and have experienced that Desire, accompanied by proper planning and actual action, brings you the aspired results. You have to desire and keep a belief that you will get the desired and take steps towards it and soon you will actually have it.

Hi Veronica! Ia m glad you still find inspiration in the audio version of the book! I am very fond of self improvement in general, it is a lifestyle choice for me so once in a while I post something related to this. You can’t go anywhere without being involved seriously and regularly with self improvement and self motivation.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Joanna–

Interesting that I should come across your post on ‘Think and Grow Rich’. in Spring of 2009, I learned about internet marketing for the first time, although it wasn’t until this past spring, in 2011, that I got serious with it.
At the time in 2009, I had purchased a membership to a marketing course that was probably a great course but was far too advanced and complex for someone who (at the time) barely understood the basic concepts of marketing.
Interestingly enough, however, one thing I remember about the course is that the instructor strongly suggested (by which I mean, was completely adament) that all newcomers to the program read “Think and Grow Rich” in ebook format that was included with the course.
I believe I got through the first chapter or two before deciding that it was a waste of time, that I should be spending my time starting to build my business, not listening to so-called ‘inspirational’ ebooks.
Now, close to three years later, after having worked for close to nine months without seeing results, and finally breaking that and experiencing the first taste of modest success online, I’ve come full circle–I’ve realized that work done without a clear desire for a particular end result is time wasted. It’s no good to say “I want to be rich”; rather, I need to set a clear goal with clear steps to achieve it.
Fear has held me back, and in fact I still feel fear almost every time I think about my business–fears that I’m not working hard enough, that I won’t be able to continually achieve the results I want, fear that some nameless power will remove all chances of my success online.
So maybe it’s time to return full-circle to Mr. Napoleon Hill.
Thanks again for bringing this book to my mind.
